November's theme: Postcards

This month, I’m finally using the watercolor paper postcards that I bought from St. Louis Art Supply. These are from Japan and have the boxes for postal codes and stamp area. I’m painting on the address side because I like the look of the boxes and that I can paint in a postage stamp. So far, I’ve completed two and I love how they turned out.

There will probably be a very strong ocean/water influence in this month's paintings. I love the ocean and love painting the subject. My next painting will be a house and garden along the coast. But I have others planned out for this month: Pallas Cat, some mushrooms, and another Japanese street scene. I find a lot of inspiration from things or scenes that I find while perusing the internet.

You can see more of what I do on the daily at Instagram (@gemmageluz). I’ll be posting more blogs here and adding posts again to my Tumblr and Flickr.

Thanks for dropping by!
