November 2022 Postcard Paintings

I painted my own postcards on Japanese postcard blanks but on the side of the address side. I used the addressing blocks for the color swatches and painted a stamp for each.

This project was so fun that I’m going to keep on painting them. They will be printed and I’m thinking of ordering a stamp for a US postcard back so they can be mailed.

Plus a Cute Cuttle Cthulhu from an Artsnacks Monthly Doodle.

This month’s supplies were varied but for all of them - I used Furukawa Watercolor Postcards from St. Louis Art Supply and the stamp details was drawn in with Sakura Gellyroll pens. The paints that I used was:

Schminke Horadam Aquarell Special Edition Set from St. Louis Art Supply - so pretty! I love the unique colors in these excellent paints.

Poems About You watercolors found on Etsy - high quality, independently made watercolors.

Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors: 36-color set, Pastel set, and Graphite Colors - excellent paints with high opacity that can be watered down for transparent washes.

Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers - these markers are super. They have create lovely washes yet are capable of doing small details after the washes are dry. They blend really well with their blender brush or regular brushes.

Viviva Colors 16-colorsheets - portable, gorgeous paints! Very high quality, easy to blend and use.

Prismacolor Nupastels - I use these as cake watercolor. They dry matte and are great for details. The are new to me so I haven’t played with them a lot.
