December 2023 Paintings and Coloring Book

This year went by really quickly, and so did December.

This month, I focused on some homemade holiday gifts for my nieces and nephew but I still got some paintings and coloring book pages in. (The sewing projects will be on my blog.) Painting and drawing is relaxing and during this busy season, it’s good mediation for me. I purchased some new paints and art supplies in November and finally got around to use them.

I played with my new Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor palette called Art Nouveau, paint bottles from Beam Paints (Winter Trees), and picked up more Copic & Tombow alcohol markers. So practiced with markers and picked up my watercolors as well. I’m going to have to practice more with both. Red Cloud Sunset, to me now, looks a bit stiff with hard edges. And I like Sunset City by the Bay a bit better now. It’s a very interesting when I work in different media: watercolors, acrylics, and markers. I’ll have to do more mixed media pieces to combine techniques. My line drawing stays consistent and I’m excited to be almost done with all the drawing for my coloring book. I’ll start pre-production in January.

Just a reminder that I have a Patreon. I have two levels: Coffee tier $5 per month for digital art lovers, and Latte tier $10 per month for digital downloads and 2 prints. Check out my Patreon at www.Patreon.com/GemmaGeluzDesigns.com.
