November 2023 Paintings

New Oak Island painting and more experimentation with fluid acrylics

My new Oak Island painting has some the new discoveries, important landmarks and a lot of more small details. I really enjoyed the watercolor process of this painting and all the trees. It took some time to do this painting but it was good technique practice. I’m very pleased on how it turned out.

After finishing up Oak Island New Discoveries, I was looking through my Instagram feed and these remarkable acrylic paintings keep popping up. They were so inspiring that I wanted to try acrylics again. I decided to use Golden Fluid and High Flow, and Liquidtex Soft Body acrylics for my paintings. They were like watercolors in texture but they dry permanent and don’t lift when you layer them. I also experimented with a violet underpainting for them - one blue-violet, other two red-violet. I like how they turned out.

In December, I will be doing multimedia paintings.
